Reviews and Ratings
I had an overall pleasant stay at the hotel. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, offering everything needed for a city break, although there was a noticeable chip in the room and a slightly moldy bath mat. The staff were lovely, polite, and friendly. The location was excellent for tourism, near major attractions but not in the safest area for evenings. The dining experience had its ups and downs, with excellent service on the first day but a disappointing continental breakfast the next day. The facilities were adequate but not exceptional.
The hotel had some ups and downs. The rooms could use some improvements, especially with the noisy portable air con unit, but the hotel provided good service with a friendly touch. The location was convenient for exploring Edinburgh, although parking was a bit of a hassle. The dining offered limited choices, but the hotel was close to St Giles Cathedral and the bustling Royal Mile.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positive and negative experiences. The room was very clean and pristine, but unfortunately, the noise from outside stairs disturbed my sleep. The hotel's central location was a big plus, making it easy to explore the heart of Edinburgh, despite the tired appearance of the room compared to the pictures. The dining experience was subpar, with a high price tag for what was offered.
The hotel had some issues with the rooms' condition, such as lots of marks and cracked paint and a noisy portable air-con unit that disrupted our stay. On the bright side, the hotel's service was accommodating and friendly. The location was ideal for exploring local attractions but lacked proper dining facilities. Despite its flaws, the friendly staff and convenient location somewhat made up for the rooms' shortcomings.
The hotel offers a mix of pros and cons. While the rooms were a bit dirty with some areas needing attention, the bathrooms were lovely and spacious, and the super king beds along with a kitchen were great. The location is excellent for exploring both the Old Town and the New Town, but the room temperature could get a bit hot. Despite a somewhat mismatched dining atmosphere, the services provided were friendly and helpful.
I stayed on the second level, which was kind of a basement with no view, but it was still a nice, comfortable room that offered great value for money. The facilities were great, and the staff was more than helpful.
The hotel has a fantastic central location, ideal for exploring the city center, but some rooms may pose safety concerns due to their design flaws. The service has some room for improvement, with issues related to privacy and disruptions during the stay. Dining options are limited but decent, and the overall value for money is questionable.
The hotel's central location near shops, cafes, and key attractions makes it convenient for exploring the city on foot, despite being on the small side. The rooms, although lacking a hair dryer and having broken bath fittings, offer easy access to transportation hubs. However, the dusty surfaces and dirt accumulation were off-putting.
The hotel offers beautifully presented and spotless rooms with lovely furniture and a very comfortable bed, accommodating all our needs. However, it was a bit cold in the morning. The service was impeccable; the staff couldn't do enough for me and my 84-year-old Aunty, who is in a wheelchair. The location is exceptional, with a beautiful view and is fantastic for exploring Edinburgh's attractions. Despite being a little noisy due to local pipers playing from dusk till dawn, this is expected as the hotel is right in the center of Edinburgh. The dining experience was good, but they charged extra for a cooked breakfast that we had booked. The facilities were excellent and met all our needs. Overall, the price was justified by the friendly staff and great location, providing value for money.
I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms, despite having irregular and poor head height, were cozy and offered a lovely view of the Christmas markets. However, the room was small and the window too. The service had ups and downs with a mix of great friendliness but also instances that lacked attention to detail. The location was unbeatable, right by major attractions, but the dining options left much to be desired with limited choices and high prices.
